A great introduction to the West Coast IPA style is our clone of Lagunitas Brewing Company's belting IPA. It comes in at 51 IBU and 6.2% and offers all the attributes one looks for in a West Coast including pine and citrus notes plus a beautiful deep orange colour. The bitterness isn't too harsh because it rests on a thick caramel malt base.
Malt: Pale, Crystal, Caramalt, Munich
Hops: Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Simcoe
Yeast: US-05 American Ale (dry). Can be upgraded to Wyeast 1056 American Ale (liquid 'smack-pack' activator) in pouch but a starter will need to be made to ensure adequate pitch quantity.
Comes with dextrose for priming, sanitiser and instructions.
